Garden City Commission approves Star Bond Project
Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Garden City Commission passed an ordinance yesterday to advance the Star Bond Project to the next step.
Commissioners voted after hearing no opposition to the project during a public hearing. Members of the garden city men’s and women’s inline hockey team spoke in favor of the Sports of the World Complex as well as some Garden City High School student.
The Complex would be built east of the Heritage Hotel and Parrot Cover waterpark. Sports of the World plan is conceptual right now but plans to feature Indoor fields, courts, a jump park and a conference center.
The next step for the Star Bond Project is getting approval from the state and secretary of commerce, if approved the following step would be the city and the developer, GC Investments, working out an agreement. If an agreement were reached construction would have to begin within two years.
