Kansas Ave resurfacing moves to next phase Wednesday

The City of Garden City will be resurfacing east Kansas Avenue between Belmont Street and Anderson Street. This project will be completed in eight phases.  The Phase 2 -Part II construction operation is underway, starting on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.  This Part II consists of Closure of the North side of the intersection at Center Street and Kansas Avenue.

North Center Street may be accessed through Pershing Avenue and Harding Avenue. (see attached map)

It is scheduled for construction for four weeks (tentatively), weather permit, including road closures as follows:

Phase 1 Closures:
·   North side of the intersection at Center Street and Kansas Avenue
·   North lanes of  Kansas  Avenue from Belmont Street to Anderson Street
Phase Duration:
Starting on September 13, 2017 for approx. four (4) weeks  (TENTATIVE)
Lane Restrictions:
·   The north lanes will be closed and the South lanes will be open to traffic.
Traffic will be restricted to two lanes. One lane will carry traffic eastbound and one lane will carry traffic westbound.
·   The intersection of Center Street and  Kansas Avenue will be partially open during this phase  –  the South half of the intersection will be open
·   No left turns will be available in any direction
·   Right In / Right Out access only
Additional Information:
·  Points of access to the adjacent businesses will be allowed throughout the project
