Dodge City holding 9-11 ceremony

Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Dodge City is holding their annual 9-11 Day of Remembrance memorial service on Monday September 11 at 7 p.m. The ceremony will be held at Liberty Garden in Wright Park.

The service is held to remember those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11 2001 and the servicemen and women who have lost their lives and continue to serve in the fight on terrorism.

This year there will also be a tree planting ceremony in Wright Park. The first tree will be planted at 7:45 a.m. in memory of those who died during the first plane crash into the north tower of the World Trade Center. The other trees will be planted at 8:03 am, 8:45 am and 9:10 am to coincide with the other plane crashes.
