Garden City Couple Arrested for Attempted Second Degree Murder
Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) A Garden City Couple has been charged with attempted second-degree murder stemming from a 2016 incident involving a two year old.
On Friday August 4 around 4 p.m. Garden City police arrested Kiala Christine Pollman, 26, and Elias Joseph Allen, 31. The arrest took place in the 2500 block of East Kansas Avenue. The couple was arrested on allegations of attempted second-degree murder. The two year old victim is Pollman’s child.
The special needs child requires special care and feeding and has since birth. Allegedly the child was not cared for properly by the parents. When taken to the hospital the child was suffering from extreme malnutrition and dehydration.
According to police, the investigation began on Sept. 9, 2016 after an incident was reported by Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
Pollman and Allen are both in jail on $100,000 bond.
