Cyclist Injured in Stanton County Accident
Johnson City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Yesterday morning at 7:58 an injury accident occurred in Stanton County involving a vehicle and cyclist.
The accident occurred at K160 eastbound at Airport Road or .2 mile east of Johnson City. Vehicle 1 was traveling eastbound on U-160 highway. Bicyclist was traveling eastbound on the eastbound shoulder in front of vehicle 1. The bicyclist turned northbound in front of vehicle1 onto Airport Road. Vehicle 1 swerved in an avoidance maneuver but struck the bicyclist. Heavy fog is believed to have played a role in the collision.
The cyclist 60 year old Mark Stephenson of Johnson City was taken to Wesley Medical in Wichita for his injuries. The driver of the vehicle 49 year old Candee Amerin of Johnson was not injured.
