Esther was born and raised in Mexico City. She then moved to Houston to raise her family, before finally settling in Garden City in 1991. Her hobbies included cooking for her family and caring for her dogs “Socks” and “Manchas”. She bravely fought breast cancer for 12 years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents- Jose Rodriguez & Esperanza Ortiz and brother Rodolfo Rodriguez-Ortiz.
