K-State Crop Insurance Expert on Trump’s Budget
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Back on May 23rd President Donald Trump announced his new budget to the dismay of the agriculture industry. K-State Ag Economics professor Art Barnaby on one of the negative impacts of the budget.
The new budget would cut $58.7 billion from crop insurance, or about $6 billion a year over 10 years. Barnaby on another problem with the budget.
The cuts would limit the government’s share of the crop insurance premium to $40,000 per farm with the balance paid by farmers.
