Garden City Commission Gets Audit Report, Approves RHID
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Yesterday at the Garden City Commission meeting the commission released their auditors report for 2016. Some of the highlights included no material statutory violations were reported. Total assets and deferred outflows of all city funds was over $227 million and the total revenue of all city funds was over $85.5 million. City Manager Matt Allen on the report.
The city also approved real property proposed to be designated as a Rural Housing Incentive District within the city. The area is north of Kansas Highway 156 and Mary Street and east of the U.S.Highway 50/83 bypass. The plan is to build 250 homes with two-car garages on that portion, and the homes are expected to be valued at more than $200,000. Allen on the Rural Housing Incentive District.
