Ulysses claims GWAC Golf crown
Goodland, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The Ulysses Tigers held off host Goodland to win the 2017 Great West Activities Conference golf tournament on Thursday at Sugar Hills Golf Course in Goodland.
Ulysses narrowly edged Goodland by two shots, as Scott City finished in third.
Individually, Goodland took the top two spots, as Garin Ihrig is the GWAC champion, while teammate Ryan Lalicker took the runner-up spot. Ulysses’ Brandon Peters was third and Scott City’s Shea Morris took fourth.
Regional play is on Monday, as Colby, Goodland, Holcomb, Scott City and Ulysses will be in Hays for the Class 4A meet, while Hugoton will head to the Class 3A Lakin regional.
