Roberta “Bert” Reed
Roberta “Bert” Reed, 63, died Friday, April 14, 2017 at her home in Dodge City.
She was born December 9, 1953 at Sterling, Kansas the daughter of Robert “Bob” and Aldia (Sutton) Revel. She was the oldest of four children. One sister and two brothers.
Bert worked for Gibson’s Discount Center for 20 years and Fairpoint Communications for 15 years. She retired on December 31, 2014. She loved spending time with her family and her dog, Rakes. Being with her family was the most important in life to her. She loved to go to Sprint Car races and fishing.
In 1972 Bert married Tom Fletcher. They had one daughter, Michelle. They later divorced. On March 18, 1975 she married James “Rick” Reed. Together they had a daughter, Amy.
Bert leaves behind her loving and caring husband, Rick; 2 daughters, Michelle Ivey and husband Brad and Amy McDaniel and husband Todd; her mother, Aldia Revel; her sister, Mackey Funk and husband Dean; 2 brothers, Harry Revel and wife Gayle and Robert Revel, II and wife Kim; 3 grandchildren, Kyle, Kami and husband Austin and Kelsa and husband Andrew; 4 step-grandchildren, Courtney and husband Pate, Ty, Macy and Jade; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A Celebration of Bert’s Life will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City, with Rev. Jeff Turner officiating. There will be no public visitation, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. Private family burial will be at a later date.
The family suggests memorials to Circle of Hope, Ford County Humane Society or Hospice of the Prairie all in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas, 67801.
