Driving Kansas Avenue About to Get More Congested Again
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Widening of Kansas Avenue from Main Street to Third Street is underway. Lane closures will begin March 27. Lee Construction, the project contractor, plans to complete the widening project in six phases lasting until late August. The first phase of construction will be between Main Street and Fifth Street and is expected to last until April 20.
During this phase, the two south lanes of Kansas Avenue will be closed. While the north lanes of traffic will remain open, one lane will carry traffic eastbound, the other westbound. No left turns will be allowed. Make sure you obey posted speed limits.
