GCPD Reports Child Left in Hot Car; Suspicious Person Arrest
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Sunday afternoon at 4pm officers were informed there was a child in need of care at 401 E. Spruce Street. The investigation revealed a two year old was left unattended in a vehicle when the temperature was 92 degrees outside.
Police report the child had fallen asleep and when the family arrived for church the mother took three of the other children with her inside. The father gathered things for the children and thought the two year old went with the mother.
When realizing the two year old had not come out of Sunday school with the other children a search ensued and it was discovered two hours later the two year old was still in the car. He was found unresponsive and taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
