Emanuel “Manuel” Herrman

Emanuel “Manuel” Herrman, 88, died Friday, March 3, 2017 at Trinity Manor, Dodge City. 

He was born September 26, 1928 at LaCrosse, the son of William and Clara (Legleiter) Herrman. He came to the area in 1962 from Hutchinson. He was a farmer and for 5 years worked in the sales department at the Ford Implement Company in Hutchinson. 

He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Moose Lodge both in Dodge City. He was also a member of the Sunflower Polka Club and love fishing, shooting pool and playing cards with family and friends. 

In 1950 he married Wilma Nash. She preceded him in death in 2000. On May 2, 2002 he married Verlene Brungardt at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City. 

Survivors include: his wife, Verlene, Dodge City; 2 sons, John Herrman, Kalvesta and Perry Herrman, LaCrosse; a daughter, Cindy Kinsley, Greensburg; 2 step-sons, Terry Racette, Kansas City, Kansas and Jeff Racette, Mullinville; and a sister, Mary Ann Petrick, Rush Center. 

He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Randy Herrman, 2 step-sons, Alan Racette and Brad Racette, 4 brothers, Joe, Pat, Harold and Ernest Herrman and a sister, Martina Leiker. 

Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Wednesday at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe with Fr. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the Cimarron Cemetery, Cimarron. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon to 7:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel.
