Elsie “Sandy” Bisch
Elsie “Sandy” Bisch, 91, died March 12, 2017 at Manor of The Plains in Dodge City. She was born on April 26, 1925 at Jetmore the daughter of Irvin and Millie (Zelenka) Miller.
She married James” J.L.” Bisch on October 10, 1946 in Garden City, he preceded her in death. Mrs. Bisch retired after 38 years with JCPenney as a Senior Merchandise Manager. During her retirement, she volunteered for Hospice of The Prairie, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and S.C.O.R.E. Sandy to her friends, loved to tend to her rose bushes and other flowers. She would go to lunch monthly with a special group of ladies she worked with at JCPenney’s. She cherished her time with these longtime friends. Elsie to her family, loved attending family events and when her nieces and nephews would make time to stop by and see her. She was at her heart a Mom and care giver. She cared for J.L.’s grandmother,” J.L.” himself until his death as well as her son. She supported Debbie in whatever way she needed including loving and taking care of Debbie’s furry four legged girls. Most important, she knew she was loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her daughter Debrah “Debbie” Bisch, sister Florence Lee both of Dodge City, nieces Bonnie Cure and husband Tony of Hanston; Georgia Scott and husband Larry of Clinton, Missouri; nephews Steve Lee and wife Myra; Mike Lee and wife Richelle both of Hanston; Terry Lee and wife Lyn of Dodge City; Ron Peterson and wife Lucretia of Wichita; Don Peterson and wife Carol of Wilton, Connecticut.
She was preceded in death by her husband J.L. and son Jackson, four brothers Fred Miller, Stephen Miller, Henry Miller and Raymond Miller and two sisters Irene Peterson and Stella Lee.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday March 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Richard Crockett presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Ford County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
