Rumford Weighs in on Legislative Discussion of School Finance
Scott City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Everyone’s heard the slogan “Short-term pain for long-term gain,” and the legislature is trying to live up to this when determining education spending in attempts to balance the current budget deficit. USD 466 Superintendent Jaime Rumford of Scott Community Schools is keeping a close eye on what lawmakers come up with.
It may mean smaller districts like Scott County have to tighten their belts quickly.
That is not the only thing on Rumford’s plate. We will have more on Wednesday about facility needs in the school districts.
