Teen Driver, Stranded Motorist Involved in Separate Accidents

(westernkansasnews.com) A 16 year old boy from Paoli, Oklahoma was injured Thursday afternoon around 12:30 in Seward County during a rollover accident.  The wreck on Seward County Road P was 1 1/2 miles south of US 54.  Troopers say a high rate of speed was the cause of the accident.  The teen was wearing a seatbelt.

An 85 year old driver from Scott City ran into a patrol car and then a 21 year old woman from Scott City while she was waiting on a tow Wednesday night around 10:30 on US 83 in the northern part of Finney County near the Friend turnoff.

Troopers say the driver disregarded emergency lights on three vehicles and struck deputy Jerry Quint’s patrolcar.  The collision then resulted in Liea Artz being struck while she waited in a ditch for her truck to be worked on.  Artz was taken to Scott County Hospital. Neither the driver or the deputy were injured.
