Salvador M. Laurelez, Jr.
Salvador M. Laurelez, Jr., 84 died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at his home in Garden City. He was born August 24, 1932 in Sinton, Texas the son of Salvador A. Laurelez, Sr. and Martina (Martinez) Laurelez.
Salvador grew up in Sinton, Texas. He later moved to Garden City in 1960 and has lived in Garden City since. Salvador worked as a farmer and after moving to Garden City, he worked for Farmland Industries. He also owned and operated Salvador Laurelez Trucking Co. for many years. He enjoyed watching TV, his church, his pets, and visiting with people.
On March 13, 1975, Salvador married Antonia Gallardo Molina in Garden City. She survives. Other survivors include 6 sons Ralph Laurelez of San Antonio, TX, Jesse Laurelez of Dallas, TX, Abel Molina of Garden City, KS, Cruz Molina of Garden City, KS, Roberto Molina of Garden City, KS, and Mario Molina of Garden City, KS; 3 sisters Anita Olmos of San Antonio, TX, Ruth Amaro of Dallas, TX, and Lupe Laurelez of San Antonio, TX; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Salvador is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Carmen Elisondro; and 4 brothers Trinidad Laurelez, Bruno Lira, George Lira, and Jesse Lira.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Pastor Stil Guerrero officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family request memorials given to the Finney County Humane Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
