Arnold H. “Arnie” Linden

Arnold H. “Arnie” Linden, age 79, died Monday, November 7, 2016 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, KS. He was born February 25, 1937 in Pendennis, KS, the son of Arnold L. and Veronica E. (Nusse) Linden. Arnie attended White Rock Grade School, Maur Hill High School in Atchison, KS and St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, KS. He spent many years as an insurance agent for Linden Insurance Co., retiring in 1987. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family, his church and his many friends. Arnie was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton, 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus, Lion’s Club, Boy Scouts, Pheasants Forever – Stubble Duck Chapter and, for many years, was on the board of directors of the Dighton Housing Authority.

Arnie was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Cyril and 3 brothers-in-law, Billy Heroneme, Bill Roth & Francis Schmalzried. Survivors include 1 son, Randy Tindall, Las Vegas, NV, 1 brother, Moe Linden, Dighton, 5 sisters, Arlene Rupp, Ellis, Carolyn Roth, Dighton, Emilie Schmalzried, Dighton, Claudia Riedlinger, Montgomery, TX, and Yvonne Kraus, Dighton; 3 grandchildren, Kendall, Cassandra & Kallista; many nieces, nephews, friends and caregivers.

Vigil service and Rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton, with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Burial will follow at Dighton Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 am to 3:00 p.m. Friday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton. Memorial Contributions may be made to Pheasant’s Forever or St. Theresa Catholic Church in care of the funeral Home.
