Great Bend blanks Garden City soccer

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-For years, Garden City boys soccer had dominated Great Bend. 

Oh how the times have changed. 

Daniel Franco scored two sensational goals as the Panthers took down the Buffaloes 3-0 Tuesday night at Buffalo Stadium. 

“They’re (Great Bend) is a much improved team,” Head Coach Joaquin Padilla said. “But we made way too many mistakes.”

Franco scored in the 28th and 60th minutes, while Eric Martinez sprinkled one in the 35th. 

The loss drops Garden City to 2-2 in the Western Athletic Conference. They host No. 3 Dodge City on Thursday. Great Bend improved to 6-3-1 overall and 3-2 in the WAC.
