GCHS soccer advances at Goddard Tourney

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-After a relatively slow start, Garden City stormed back in the second half with goals from Eric Alvarez and Kevin Benitez as the Buffaloes downed Campus 2-0 in the first round of the Goddard Tournament. 

“I really like our communication in the second half,” goalie Kender Acevedo said. “We are getting better.”

Alvarez scored first in the opening minute of the second half before Benitez added the clincher in the 62nd minute. 

Campus only had two shots on goal to the Buffaloes eight. 

Garden City moves onto play Goddard Eisenhower in the semifinals on Thursday
