Broncbuster volleyball falls in 3 at Colby
Colby, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-Garden City’s hot start just seven days ago seems like a distant memory.
But it’s all part of the process; one that started nearly a year ago to the day.
On Wednesday though in Colby, the Broncbusters were thoroughly defeated, losing in three sets 17-25, 18-25 and 8-25.
“We didn’t play well,” Head Coach Jacquelynne Matula said afterwards. “I expected us to play a lot better than we did.”
That last set said it all. But when Coach Matula replaced Harvey Sanders a week before last season started, no one, not even the bright, young leader, expected a turnaround overnight.
“They are buying in more this year,” Matula said of her first recruiting class. “But it’s going to take time.”
Wednesday night proved that.
Garden City falls to 2-4 on the season. They return home on Friday to take on Dodge City. 6:30 start time at the DPAC.
