Severo “Fred” Perez

Severo “Fred” Perez, 52, died August 21, 2016 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on February 21, 1964 at Dodge City, Kansas the son of Antonio and Marguerita (Lozano) Perez.

He was a avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan as well as a Kansas City Royals and KU Basketball fan. Mr. Perez loved spending time with his family and working on and restoring old cars. He was very good at gardening. 

He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.

Survivors include his son Omar Quinonze of Lubbock, Texas; mother and stepfather Marguerita and Roberto Ortiz of Dodge City; Stepmother Jackie Perez of Emporia, Kansas; seven brothers Antonio Perez Jr. and wife Janie of Altus, Oklahoma; Jeffrey Perez and wife Leslie of Holcomb; Joseph Marshall Perez and wife Danielle of Dodge City; Vincent Perez and wife Veda of Little Rock, Arkansas; Roberto Jr. Ortiz of Dodge City; Lorenzo Ortiz and wife Rosa of Durango, Mexico; Humberto Ortiz of Dodge City; seven sisters Alberta Prosper and husband Floyd of Little Rock, Arkansas; Sabrina Villagrana; Theresa Rivas and husband Jesus; Caretina Rivas and husband Heber; Juanita Ortiz and companion Santiago Lopez; Raquel Varela and husband Juan; Topazio Ortiz all of Dodge City; three step brothers Mat Minton and wife Ashley of El Dorado, Kansas; Kenton Lewis and wife Michelle of Topeka, Kansas; Myles Lewis of Wichita, Kansas. 

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Pat Perez. 

Vigil Service will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday August 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Severo “Fred” Perez Memorial fund in care of the funeral home.
