Jerry Ann McFadden-Gleason
Jerry Ann McFadden-Gleason, 74, lost her valiant struggle with chronic lung disease and found peace with the Lord on August 1, 2016 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on May 29, 1942 at Wichita, daughter of Jerald Eugene and Betty (Johnson) McFadden
Jerry grew up in Montezuma and graduated from Montezuma High School in 1960. She then attended and graduated from Dodge City Community College. Jerry spent many years working in the Sunday School department of her church and worked for many years with the Boy Scouts organization. Jerry worked at many different jobs throughout her lifetime but her most recent employment was with USD 613 where she was a Para Educator for 21 years in their special education department. She retired from that job in 2012 but continued to do some substitute work for them.
Jerry married Gene Koehn in 1960 and he died in 1973. On September 4, 1976 she married Terry Gleason and they spent many happy years together.
She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Dodge City and attended the First United Methodist Church of Dodge City.
Jerry is survived by her husband, Terry Gleason of Dodge City; a daughter, Jacquelyn Leigh Stiles of Halstead; two sons, Ronald Todd Koehn of Wichita and Patrick Torrence Gleason and wife Erin of Goodland; step-daughter, Mickie Louis Lara and husband Jeff of Edmond, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Desiree Gwyn Thomas and husband Josh of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Alexandria and Anderson Gleason of Goodland; step-grandson, Jackson Lara of Edmond, Oklahoma; two great grandchildren, Trysten and Kamberlynn Thomas of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two sisters, Joyce Fisher and husband Tony of Copeland and Darla Carson & husband Dennis of Ellinwood. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday August 5, 2016 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Jerre Nolte presiding. Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Friday at Fairmount Cemetery in Jetmore. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday August 4, 2016 from Noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Circle of Hope in care of the funeral home.
