Baker signs first pro contract
Scott City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-The journey from Scott City High School to Wichita State was enough of a big story. The journey to the NBA, now that’s another tale all of its own.
On Monday that journey continued. Baker, who once led Scott City to a state championship with a last second shot at the Sports Arena in Hutch, signed a one-year, partially-guaranteed contract with the New York Knicks.
The deal ensures Baker an invite to training camp in September. It does not however; guarantee him a spot on the 15-man roster.
Baker averaged 14 points per game for the Knicks during the NBA Summer League. He will be in town on August 3 for a book signing.
