Bonnie J. Miller, 76, died July 19, 2016 at Bethel Home in Montezuma. She was born on September 7, 1939 in Stafford the daughter of Ike and Josephine (Willinger) Kreie.

Bonnie grew up in Hudson, graduating from Hudson High School. She went on to further her education at Fort Hays State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1961. On June 14, 1959, she married Jack Miller in Stafford. He survives. Bonnie taught English and Home Economics. She stopped teaching to raise her family. When they moved to Stockton, she worked at the city clerk’s office. They later moved to Macksville where she worked at the bank, retiring after several years. Bonnie also served as Mayor of Macksville. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and refurbishing furniture. Bonnie’s greatest joy was following her children’s sporting events, never missing games. She also loved her grandchildren and following their activities.

She was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband Jack, Bonnie is survived by two sons, Matt Miller and wife Debbi of Lakin and Mike Miller and wife Melissa of Montezuma; one daughter, Jodi Stover and husband Darrin of Neodesha; 10 grandchildren, Brock, Bryant, and Brandon Miller all of Lakin, Jackson and Clifton Miller of Montezuma, and Drew, Cameron, Kristen, Samantha, and Allison Stover all of Neodesha; and one brother, Bill Kreie and wife Elaine of Ulysses. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Montezuma United Methodist Church on Monday July 25, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Javier Martinez and Rev. Jerry Odle presiding. Burial will be at 2:30 PM Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Stafford Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Montezuma on Sunday July 24, 2016 from noon to 6:00 PM.
