Suspected Murder Accomplice Enters Plea to Charges

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A 30 year old man from Ford County has pleaded no contest to committing aggravated burglary and guilty to obstructing investigators in the case leading to the April, 2015 death of Christopher Boyd.  James Schmidt faces a maximum prison sentence of five years. 

Boyd’s body was found under the Bucklin bridge one month after his murder.  As part of a plea deal Schmidt has agreed to testify in the murder trial of Anthony Becker.  Sentencing will be at a later date.
