Next Battle Likely to Be Much Bigger in Funding Education
(westernkansasnews.com) The first battle has been settled determining the equity component of funding K-12 education in the state. Now the question is how much more will it take to solve adequacy? With an enrollment increase of almost 20-thousand more students since 2009, Garden City Superintendent Doctor Steve Karlin says it would take a significant amount to make things whole.
Dodge City Superintendent Alan Cunningham believes not enough money is being brought in.
The State Supreme Court will hear arguments in September.
