GCHS baseball splits with Hays to close season
Hays, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-Garden City has made a living of coming from behind late.
Thursday was no exception.
The Buffaloes climbed out of a 2-0 hole by scoring five runs in the top of the seventh to beat Hays 5-3. They lost the finale 2-1.
Griff Brunson and Aric Rowland slapped run-scoring singles in the seventh in game one before a two-run error gave the Buffaloes a 5-2 lead.
The Indians plated one in the bottom half before Syrus Schwartz ended the game with a strikeout.
In a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the seventh in game two, it was Connor Rule who won it with one swing of the bat. After falling behind 0-2, Rule smoked an RBI single to give the Indians a dramatic one-run victory.
