Moran Puts Military on Hot Seat About Transfer of Terrorist Detainees

Washington, D.C. (westernkansasnews.com) US Senator Jerry Moran questioned Defense Secretary Ash Carter this week and other military leaders about President Obama’s desire to close Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in holding terrorist suspects and sending them to Fort Leavenworth in Kansas. Moran believes a lack of communication between all involved would leave Kansas vulnerable.

Moran says by law Congress needs to be notified of this transfer by the administration.
