Two Men From Dodge Indicted For Federal Hate Crime
Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Interim U.S. Attorney Tom Beall says two men from Dodge City have been charged with federal hate crimes for targeting and attacking three men for being Somalian. The indictment charges 31 year old Omar Martinez and 24 year old Armando Sotelo with causing bodily harm to the men because of their national race and origin.
The indictment say the attack occurred on June 19, 2015 and states the attackers used a broken glass bottle to come after two of the Somali men. All three victims were here legally and living in Dodge City at the time of the attack. Each charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and 250,000 dollar fine.
