Alvin Marion Belt 87, died, March 31, 2016 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. He was born May 23, 1928 in Edwards Co. Kansas the son of Clifford C. and Daisy (Herbert) Belt. He attended Belpre High School in Belpre, KS and has been a resident of Liberal for the past 50 years. He had worked for Ideal Foods and Nash Finch as a Forklift Operator for 27 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He loved visiting Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Red River, NM making yearly trips to spend time with family and friends there. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes and won many local competitions. He served in US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953 and the US Army Reserve from 1953 to 1956. On July 4, 1974 he married Jewell Nadine Stabel in Liberal, KS and she survives.

Great Grandchildren Andrew Campbell, Raven and Paydon Lair, Harlee and Jazlyn Dobbins, Morgan Lynn and Max Steven Anderson, Lukas Daniel and Talia Sue Kurger, Aydenlee Stabel, Ashley and Zachary Stabel. 
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Randal Stabel, brothers Lloyd and Clyde Belt.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00am Saturday at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Arlen Ankle officiating. Burial will be held at Liberal Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion. Visitation time will be from 1 to 8pm Friday with the family to greet friends from 6:30 to 7:30 at Brenneman Funeral Home.
