Robert “Bob” L. Slattery
Robert “Bob” L. Slattery, 72, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at his home in Wright.
He was born April 30, 1943 at Dodge City, the son of Daniel H. and Isabel (Penka) Slattery. He was a lifetime area resident and worked as a Maintenance Technician for 17 years at Cargill in Dodge City retiring in 2007.
He was a member of St. Andrew Church in Wright, 4th Degree Member of Knights of Columbus Council 2955, Life Member of the Amateur Trap Shooting Association and Life Member of the Kansas Trap Shooting Association.
On May 12, 1973 he married Elaine Conrardy at St. Andrew Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Elaine, Wright; 2 sons, Justin, Wright and Kyle, Dodge City; 2 daughters, Shannon Avila and husband Ramon, Wright and Danielle Perez and husband Marshall, Dodge City; 2 brothers, Stanley and wife Shirley, Wright and Les and wife Carmelita, Offerle; 8 grandchildren, Abbey Carmona, Marissa Perez, Lcp Dominic Perez, Baylee Avila, Bryant Avila, Halie Slattery, Addison Slattery and Lilliana Slattery and 1 great grandson, Chase Burke.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Vigil service will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at St. Andrew Church. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Wednesday at the church with Fr. Robert Schremmer presiding. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation both in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
