Mary Lou Stallsworth

Mary Lou Stallsworth, age 87, died on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on May 18, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of Paul T. and Helen Fitzsimons Brantingham.

She graduated from Glenbar West High School in the Chicago suburbs and attended Kansas State University.

On Aug. 23, 1947 she married Clyde Stallsworth in Glenn Ellyn, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2013.

Mary Lou was a member of the Garden City community since the early 1950’s moving from Maryville, Missouri. She was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas. While actively volunteering at the church she lead the youth group for 20 years, she also taught a bible study for young women for many years. She was also active in the American Red Cross, and the Finney County Catbackers. She called forth the best from people that she knew and met.

One Daughter Sue Anne Neufeld of Garden City, Kansas

Three Grandsons Major Ryan Stallsworth of Omaha, Nebraska

Matthew Stallsworth of Seattle, Washington

Peter Stallsworth of Raleigh, North Carolina

Three Granddaughters Claire McNitt of Denver, Colorado

Mary Kay Neufeld of Brooklyn, New York

Sarah Neufeld of Pensacola, Florida

One Brother Richard A. Brantingham of Culver, Indianna and Naples, Florida

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one grandchild, Paige Stallsworth.

Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City, Kansas on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 10:30 A.M.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. on Sunday and from 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Monday at the Price and Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home; 620 N. Main St. Garden City, Kansas 67846.

Internment will be held at the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas following the service.
