Guebara Found Guilty of Attempted Murder

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A year from the very day the incident occurred, 51 year old Paul Guebara was found guilty in the attempted murder of 64 year old Raul Tapia by a Finney County jury. The shooting occured on the 600 block of Bancroft Street in Garden City. Guebara also served part of a life sentence for the murder of his wife Genny in 1983 and was paroled in 2005.

Prosecutors say Guebara flashed headlights at Tapia causing the victim to get out of the vehicle that night. That is when Guebara fired multiple times hitting Tapia in the leg. A sentencing date for Guebara still has not been announced.
