Nellie Trujillo, 93, died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on June 7, 1922 in the Mexican village, Dodge City, the daughter of Joe V. and Sara ( Jasso ) Torrez.

She grew up in the Mexican village and attended Dodge City schools. In 1947, she married Frank Trujillo in Dodge City. He preceded her in death in 1973. Nellie worked at Arrowhead West, Fat N Happies, both in Dodge City, and most recently at the Dodge City Country Club. Her most important job was taking care of her family.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.

She is survived by one son, Mario Trujillo and wife Theresa, Wichita, five daughters, Jane Martinez, and Veronica Trujillo, both of Wichita, Patricia Trujillo, Eva Ontiberos, and Theresa Trujillo, all of Dodge City, seven sisters, Teresa Mendez, Isabel Kelley, and Carol Torrez, all of Dodge City, Josephine Rodriguez, Elenore Lacer, and Margaret Torrez, all of Wichita, Delores Parker , Marble Falls, Texas, thirty eight grandchildren, thirty eight greatgrandchildren, and twelve great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Trujillo, son Fernando Trujillo, five brothers, Paul, Pascual, Frank, Epimenio, and Mike Torrez , two sisters, Jessie Rodriguez, and Lupe Torrez, two granddaughters Felicia Zambrano, and Angel Trujillo, and two grandsons Alfredo Ontiberos, and Duane Martinez.

Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 903 Central Avenue, Dodge City, Kansas, on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Vigil services will be held on Friday February 26, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City.
