GC Rec Board Hires Whitley As New Interim Director
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) In the wake of a 386-thousand dollar budget deficit that was covered with a loan by the city, the Garden City Recreation Commission Board hired an Interim Director on Friday. Board Chair Marcus Ramos identified why former USD 457 school district Chief Financial Officer Kathleen Whitley was hired.
Whitley served 25 years in the school district. Ramos says Whitley will likely stay in the position at least until a management study is completed by Novak Consulting on ways to improve the rec. Those findings are expected next month.
