Bernese Stith

Bernese Stith, 99, died February 7, 2016 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home, Dodge City. She was born on December 4, 1916 at Dennison, the daughter of Budd and Pearle (Karnes) Webb. 

Bernese lived in Dodge City since 1922. On February 23, 1935 she married Howard Stith in Cimarron. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2003. Bernese worked at the Kansas Soldiers Home at Ft. Dodge and later worked in the church nursery for 15 years.  

She was a member of the Grace Communtiy Church of Dodge City. 

Bernese is survived by her daughter, Margaret Clark of Wichita; five grandchildren, Craig Stith and wife Linda, Pam Vandandaigue and husband Gary, Gary Clark and wife Peggy, Sherri Johnson and husband George, and Cheryl Stith; five great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Stith; four brothers and five sisters. 

Graveside service will be held at Greencrest Cemetery on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from Noon to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
