School Board Approves New Seven Period Day at GCHS
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A plan that school officials say was three years in the making was approved at last night’s school board meeting in Garden City. The board passed a proposal to change the school day at the high school from an alternative block schedule to seven period day. Genesis Conterras expressed her concern to the board about how the changes effects her as a student.
Here is why GCHS Principal Steve Nordby pushed for the schedule change.
Nordby says with Tuesday’s snow day there are some classes with the alternative schedule where students have not seen their teacher in week. A volunteer committee of 12 students will help advise faculty on making this transition.
