Neada Elizabeth Wheatley

Neada Elizabeth Wheatley, 89 died Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born August 7, 1926 in Garden City the daughter of Max & Bessie Matilda (Altus) Engler.
Neada was a lifetime resident of Garden City where she attended Garden City schools. A homemaker, she enjoyed crafts, especially china painting, but her passion was teaching the Bible. She was a member of Calvary Assembly Church in Garden City where she has served as Pastor the past 11 years.
On October 8, 1944, Neada married Jim Wheatley in Garden City. He survives. Other survivors include 3 sons Dr. James W. & wife Mickey Wheatley of Concord, North Carolina, Rev. Arnold L. & wife Penny Wheatley of York, Pennsylvania, and Roger D. & wife Tammy Wheatley of Garden City, Kansas; 6 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Neada is preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers Bill Engler, Max Engler, Herman Engler, Duane Engler, and Ronald Engler; and a sister Maxine Engler.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at First Assembly of God Church in Garden City with Rev. Arnold L. Wheatley and Rev. Terry Engler officiating. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. There will be no calling hours. The family requests memorials given to Calvary Assembly Church in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
