Man Wanted for Liquor Store Robbery in Custody
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Police have extradited an armed robbery suspect from Billings, Montana for taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the Chappell Liquor in Garden City on April 1st. 40 year old Lance Tyler was also wanted two days earlier for an armed robbery in West Virginia. Authorities in Montana late last month made the arrest and Tyler will answer to charges in Garden City.

A man has been arrested for a weekend incident at the Sun Flower Inn where he’s accused of beating a woman and threatening her with a firearm. 37 year old Joseph Johnson of Garden City will face of variety of charges including assault and criminal possession of a firearm.

After a thorough investigation, two suspects are facing charges for a burglary last summer at the Clint Lightner Baseball Field making off with 1,800 dollars worth of items. 18 year old Steven Carr and 19 year old Zachary Hutchens have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the burglaries.

Recent upgrades of the administrative phone system in Garden City have caused a disruption of calls to the police department’s main number at (620) 276-1300. Police notify anyone experiencing this problem when first calling the main number have permission to call 911 for now. The issue should be resolved shortly.
