Allen: Rec Commission Taking Right Steps In Response to “Going Concern”
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The discovery that the Garden City Recreation Department was 386-thousand dollars in the hole came as a shock to some, but from others the latest rec audit said there was a going concern. Since the commission help covered the gap, City Manager Matt Allen believes the rec board has been proactive in responding to the problem.
A management study will be done to help the rec find solutions.
The proposals are due January 4th. The city manager and a member of the rec board will determine who does the study.
