Suspects Accused of Scheme to Fake Kidnapping For Money

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Police have arrested two suspects accused of staging a kidnapping to get money from a family member. Thursday morning Police received a call of a kidnapping in progress. A 33 year old woman was reportedly being held against her will and the captors were demanding ransom from the family.

Garden City Police and Grant County sheriff’s deputies conducted a joint operation to locate the vicitim. A meeting place and time were set up. Police made two arrests on scene of 33 year old Casey Corter from Johnson and 32 year old Michael Fink from Garden City. It was determined the alledged victim was never in any danger. Both suspects are looking at the charge of falsifying a report.
