Janet Suzanne (Barnes) Jones

Janet Suzanne (Barnes) Jones, was born May 19, 1959 to Paul Barnes and Margery Schraeder Barnes Wilson. She passed away suddenly at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan on December 16, 2015 with her children at her side.

She was born and raised in Dodge City and graduated from Dodge City High School in 1977. In 1996, she moved to the Riley, Kansas area and has spent the last 18 years there. Janet has always been a very giving, loving, ornery and kind spirited woman. Family was of up most importance to her and she always made sure that her family and friends knew how much she loved them.

Janet is survived in death by her father, Paul Barnes and his wife Kaye Metzger-Barnes of Dodge City; two sisters, Beth Barnes-Hardaway and Pam Wilson both of Georgia; her four children, Shannon Graf Giessel and husband Jesse, their two children Skyler and Zoey of Minneola, Jessica Jones of Dodge City, Chelsey and Jamison Schartz, both of Riley, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margery Schraeder Barnes Wilson and her step mother, Patty Barnes.

Memorial services will be planned at a later date. Memorial may be made to the Janet Jones Memorial Fund in care of Swaim Funeral Home for various expenses including moving and living expenses for her two youngest children still living at home and attending High School.
