Paul James Shafer

Paul James Shafer, age 85, passed away on Sunday. December 6, 2015 at Greeley County Hospital LTC in Tribune, Kansas. Paul was born January 11, 1930 in Isabel, Kansas, the son of John & Hazel E. (Brooks) Shafer. A resident of Greeley County since 1939, he was a farmer and stockman.

Paul was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, had served as a former Greeley County Commissioner for twenty-two years, and was on the CO-OP and FSA Board of Directors.

On June 2, 1948 he married Bernice M. Kleymann in Wichita County, Kansas. Bernice passed away on August 2, 1984 at Kansas City, Kansas. On October 27, 1988 he married Judy Frazer Eaves in Las Vegas, Nevada.

David Eves- Wichita, Kansas

John & Agnes Eves- Seattle, Washington

Eleven grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren

His parents, a brother, J.F. Shafer, a sister, Joanne Meiries and a grandson, Ty B. Shafer precede him in death.

Vigil services will be held at 7:00 pm (MST) Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune, Kansas.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am (MST) Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tribune, Kansas with Father Benjamin Martin officiating.

Burial will be in Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas.

Friends may call from noon until 5:00 pm Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Tribune, Kansas.
