Carl D. Pomeroy, 83, passed away on December 7th, 2015 in Garden City, Kansas. Carl was born on December 18th, 1931 at Duquoin, Kansas to James G. and Ruby Pomeroy. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother Hazel Pomeroy, two brothers and one sister. 
Carl and his wife, Carmelita (Wedman) Pomeroy were married on November 26th, 1952 in Danville, KS. He is survived by his wife, Carmelita Pomeroy of Garden City, Kansas. Carl will be missed by those he left behind including two daughters, Carolyn Shanley of Erie, CO and Marilyn Tucker of Greeley, CO and one son, Mike Pomeroy, of Hugoton, KS. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Virginia Hageman of Spivey, KS and Carol Sinnett of Belle Plain, KS, one brother, Fred Pomeroy of Denver, CO and many nieces and nephews. 
Carl served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was a farmer and rancher and also worked for the US Soil Conservation Service. He was also the road and bridge superintendent for both Kearney and Finney counties in Kansas.  
Vigil Service and Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 11 also at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Fr. Reginald A. Urban as Presider. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials given to St. Dominic Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
