Tough Day For Scott City Tennis in Phillipsburg

Phillipsburg, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–Playing in their toughest meet of the year to this date Tuesday, the Scott City Lady Beavers won one match at the Phillipsburg Quadrangular. Norton edged out Phillipsburg 22-20 for the team win, while Concordia had 15 and Scott City finished with three points.
Playing No. 1 Singles on Tuesday was Holly Wilcoxson. She fell to Phillipsburg 8-3, Norton 8-0 and Concordia 8-2. The No. 1 Doubles Team of Callan Rice/Diana Rodriguez lost to Phillipsburg 8-2, defeated Norton 8-4 and lost to Concordia 8-4. Brianna Emahizer played No. 2 Singles for the Lady Beavers. She fell 8-0 to Phillipsburg, Norton and Concordia. The No. 2 Doubles team of Leah Artz/Anna Miller dropped matches to Phillipsburg 8-1, Norton 8-0 and Concordia 8-0.
Scott City will continue their season Thursday in Dodge City.
