Ruda steps down as GCCC Athletics Director
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-After three years, Ryan Ruda is stepping down as Garden City Community College Athletics Director.
Colin Lamb, who has worked at the college for the past 15 years; the last three of those as assistant Athletics Director, will take over on an interim basis.
“Dr. Swender approached me about restructuing some positions on campus,” Lamb said. “He told me that Ryan will concentrate on his position as Vice President of Student Relations. With this, Dr. Swender appointed me as interim Athletics Director.”
The college has undergone a positive transformation under Ruda’s watch. The men’s soccer program was reinstated after a five-year absence; plus the men’s and women’s track teams.
Ruda was also instrumental in the hiring of current football coach Jeff Sims back in December.
