Elephants Moved Out to New Home in Colorado Springs

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) It has been announced elephants Kimba and Missy at the Lee Richardson Zoo have been transported to their new home at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs.  Lee Richardson Zoo Director Kristi Newland says timing was the most important factor in determining when the elephants were transported including weather and when the person responsible for the transfer was available, but that the move was expected sometime this month.

It was decided this summer to relocate Missy and Kimba because of their advanced age and eventually when one passes the other would not have to grieve alone.  Cheyenne Mountain Zoo already has several elephants under their care.
