Eugene “Gene” Carl Fry
Eugene “Gene” Carl Fry, 77, died September 12, 2015 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. He was born on December 7, 1937 in Dodge City, the son of Ernest Carl and Margaret (Hohner) Fry.
Gene attended school in Montezuma through his sophomore year. He then went to Copeland High School where he graduated in 1956. On December 18, 1976, Gene married Linda Sheipline in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Gene was a lifetime resident of the Montezuma area and was a self employed dirt contractor and farmer for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, raising cattle, and spending time with his family.
Gene is survived by his wife, Linda Fry of Montezuma; two daughters, Janie Jantz and husband Dean of Montezuma and Karen Schilling and husband Matt of Elmore City, Oklahoma; one brother, Andee Fry and wife Gayle of Montezuma; three grandchildren, Cassandra Zweygardt and husband Andy of Montezuma, Savannah Fadenrecht and husband Mike of Cimarron and Bo Schilling and wife Chelsea of Elmore City, Oklahoma; and six great grandchildren, Jonalee, Austin, Jackson, and Emmalynn Zweygardt, Corrie and Troy Schilling. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Bruce Titus presiding. Burial will follow the service. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Montezuma on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Gray County EMS in care of the funeral home.
