Dodge City moves into top 20
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-The Conquistadors entered week two right on the cut line of the NJCAA top 20. By week’s end, Dodge City’s 40-35 come-from-behind victory over arch-rival Garden, coupled with Iowa Western’s blowout loss to Butler pushed the Conquistadors back into the polls for the first time since the preseason a year ago.
Dodge City is at No. 20 in the latest rankings released Wednesday afternoon. Iowa Western, who had made 67 straight appearances in the polls, was dropped for the first time since 2009. Hutchinson, fresh off a win over conference-rival Fort Scott is third followed by Coffeyville at No. 4
